Mojo Lounge Restaurant and Boutique, in Depth

Permanently closed.

Mojo Lounge Restaurant & Bartique sat on Placencia Village Road in Placencia Village, a cocktail lounge and restaurant that leaned into its own name. The food was eclectic and changed often, and the draw for a lot of people was the drinks: inventive infused cocktails poured in a lounge-style room broken up into partitioned dining areas, so a table felt more like its own corner than a spot in a dining hall.

What It Was Known For

Two things carried the place. The menu didn't hold still, so what you ordered depended on when you walked in, and the bar treated infusions as the main event rather than an afterthought. If you were on the Placencia Sidewalk looking for a sit-down drink with some ambition behind it, this was that kind of room. For the broader category it belonged to, the peninsula's beach bars and cocktail spots page collects places still open today.

The San Pedro Connection

Mojo also left a mark beyond Placencia. It inspired a sister business, Nook Restaurant & Cocktail Bartique, which opened on the beach in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, in October 2015.

Current Status

The lounge is gone. Tripadvisor lists it as closed, with a closure notation dated October 2018, and it doesn't turn up in the current Placencia restaurant roundups for 2025 and 2026. This page stays up as an accurate record for anyone still searching the name, not as a live listing. If you're planning a trip now, start from the peninsula's Placencia Village restaurants instead.
